Auctions play an intrinsic role within both livestock sector and rural communities, and have demonstrated significant resilience and adaptability over the past year.
The Farmers Guardian #MartstheHeart Awards support and promote livestock sales around the UK, and aim to recognise auctions driving the industry forwards and giving the most back to the farming community.
The awards are now open for your nominations, and Farmers Guardian is asking farmers around the UK to tell them which auction mart and cafe they feel has made a huge contribution to farming life over the past year. Perhaps you know a mart who has worked really hard to make sure you can still sell stock safely or a cafe that has gone the extra mile to provide crucial rural community support?
The Livestock Auctioneers’ Association is delighted to sponsor the awards, which acknowledge the role auctioneers and their businesses play in the livestock industry and the wider agricultural and rural community, a key part of which is ensuring farmers get a fair and true price for their stock.
The last year has demonstrated the importance of the live market when demand outstrips supply, driving prices and creating trends. This is a great opportunity to recognise the role auctions play within the industry.
