Mart customers will be automatically upgraded to the Daily Prices plan FREE OF CHARGE
A raft of functionality and feature updates to the ‘Market Prices’ platform, provided by the Livestock Auctioneers’ Association (LAA) will go live on the 4 March 2025. Market Prices continues to help producers stay ahead of the latest trade updates by making informed, data-driven decisions, to support farming businesses.
The Market Prices platform is the destination for all live cattle, sheep and pig prices from across the livestock markets of England and Wales.
The latest move, as the platform approaches 14 months since its launch in January 2024, will see all regular livestock mart users upgraded, free of charge, to the Daily Prices plan, providing essential daily store and finished livestock prices, alongside region comparison features and a four-week ‘look back’ option.
Moving up from the introductory Weekly Prices plan, which will end from 4 March 2025, the Daily Prices plan is free of charge to all regular mart users, once they have selected their main livestock market and provided their unique vendor number when registering on the platform.
Individuals wishing to access this data, but who are not regular mart customers, can do so for the Daily Prices subscription plan of £4.99 per month. The Real Time Prices plan is also available to all users, providing real time updates and livestock insights, including breeding prices and market comparisons, for a monthly fee of £10.99.
“Having launched the Market Prices platform at the start of last year, we have been really encouraged with the uptake, with producers now able to make even more informed decisions about when and what to market,” says LAA executive secretary, Chris Dodds.
“From day one, we have been listening to your feedback and continue to enhance and fine-tune the delivery of this service to meet your needs,” he adds.
The Market Prices platform is under constant development, with the new updates including a refreshed mobile-first design, improved functionality, simplified sign-in and log-in process and increased loading speed, delivering a quicker, sharper and more efficient user experience.
Real Time plan subscribers will now be able to track market trends, making weekly comparisons to previous year's data in the new ‘Charts’ feature. In addition, from April 2025, all Real Time users will receive regular newsletters from the LAA, direct to their inbox, highlighting monthly market prices and trade analysis.
“The Market Prices platform has been designed to allow for a greater level of market scrutiny, providing ease of access, and bringing better insights and more regular live updates to farm businesses and mart customers,” says Mr Dodds.
”These new updates and improvements will enhance that service, but as ever, we welcome continued feedback and will continue to develop the platform as part of our on-going drive to bring people, auction markets and prices together in one live hub.”
